ELECTRICAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Manage Installation schedule

Assist in PV project installations ranging from residential to commercial (as needed)

Interact with customers in professional and courteous manner

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Excellent customer service skills required

Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required

Must have a valid state driver’s license

Must have a clean driving record (example- no DUI in the last 5 years)

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen

Previous solar experience strongly preferred

Must be able to lift 50lbs

Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)

Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time

Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs

High school diploma or GED required.

Journeyman’s License Preferred or Equivalent work history

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Excellent customer service skills required

Have basic Electrical Knowledge

Competent in the general concepts of solar

Understand NEC Code Requirement

OSHA 30 certification

SOLAR SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Perform routine  maintenance on contracted solar assets

  • Visual & mechanical inspections/repairs
  • Electrical test including meggar, ductor, insulation resistance.
  • Mechanical including filter replacements, annual inverter maintenance, PV maintenance
  • Document each PM visit (pictures/test results) and send to client

Experience working with electrical troubleshooting on various types of equipment.

Perform T&M service/Emergency service calls

  • Communicate service jobs to assistant controller
  • Document work with pictures & test results (reports to be sent to client)

Assist in PV project installations ranging from residential to commercial (as needed)

Oversee subcontractors

  • Manage schedule, quality and budget

Interact with customers in professional and courteous manner

Assist in estimating service jobs

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

The position is responsible for designing solar plants and energy efficient buildings including but not limited to:

 

Power distribution design

Perform electrical demand load calculations

Develop power distribution riser diagrams

Determine   correct     wire   and   feeder     sizes   for   switchboard transformers and branch panels

Develop the design of Emergency and   uninterruptible power generation and distribution systems

Perform voltage drop calculations

Perform fault current calculations, system coordination and Arc Flash   analysis using power analysis software

Develop design specifications for power distribution systems

Solar panels / Photo-voltaic(PV) design

Conduct site feasibility studies,   solar trajectory, shading, pow output calculations

Design grid connected PV systems

Produce PV module layout plans

Develop detailed PV module layout plans to meet   all applicable codes.

Develop single-line diagrams with required   details in according with NEC

Energy efficient building envelope design

Develop energy models to analyze building energy use.

Determine appropriate design measures for different climate zones to maximize benefits from local climactic conditions and reduce energy usag

Coordinate with Architects/Structural engineers to ensure building systems   have     appropriate thermal and optical properties to optimize thermal comfort and illumination levels

Daylight/lighting control design

Design daylight harvesting systems   with corresponding automatic controls (open-loop/closed-loop)

Develop lighting control details

Energy efficient lighting design

Perform lighting photometric calculations

Perform life cycle costs and Return on Investment

Select energy efficient lighting and develop lighting layouts.

Develop light fixture schedules and specifications

 

Additional duties of the position are as follows: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports; confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information; research and analyze customer design proposals specification, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications; specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; research, design, and evaluate various electrical products, systems, and processes to meet requirements, apply knowledge of engineering principles; provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs; and conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
