For decades, this once-bustling Westside Indianapolis mall had been struggling.
Fast forward to May of 2021, when the announcement was made that Lafayette Square Mall had been purchased. Not only had this massive piece of property been purchased, but an additional $200 million investment would include new construction of nearly 200 multifamily rental units, up to 900 small ethnic shops, and even a trail alongside Little Eagle Creek that will surround the property. There’s much more in the works for what will be called, Window to the World. (https://windowtotheworld.com/restaurant-training)
This is the most exciting development westside residents in this area have seen in decades, and Johnson-Melloh is very proud to be a part of this transformation. We have been preparing the structure for more than a year now, and in early September, we teamed with Midwest Helicopter Airways (https://midwesthelicopters.com/home) to individually fly 30 rooftop units up as our crews strategically directed proper placement of the units on the roof.
Yes, the transformation of Lafayette Square Mall into the Window to the World continues, and it will eventually be much less of a mall, and much more like a small neighborhood, international experience.
